CarePossible
Free mental health and addiction treatment for veterans and military families. Founded by Randy Moraitis, CIP, who also plans interventions for families who can't get someone they love to the door.
Treatment when money is the wall
Randy Moraitis started CarePossible in 2013 after watching too many people go without help because they couldn’t pay for it. The nonprofit provides mental health and addiction care at no cost to veterans, military families, and low-income families.
Here’s how it works: CarePossible secures treatment scholarships from established behavioral health programs, then places veterans into those beds when they apply. It also offers free counseling and life-skills coaching. CarePossible reports more than $3 million in treatment scholarships given to veterans in crisis.
If cost, a coverage gap, or a VA wait is the thing standing between you and treatment, call CarePossible before you give up on it.
Intervention and recovery coaching
Randy is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) and CADC II addiction counselor with more than 20 years in the field. He plans and leads interventions for addiction, mental health crises, and destructive behavior, and works with individuals and families afterward through counseling and recovery coaching.
For military families, that means one call can cover both halves of the problem: getting your veteran to agree to treatment, and getting that treatment paid for. Sessions are in person in Laguna Niguel or by video.
In the community
- Narcan distribution. CarePossible is an official Narcan distributor and has handed out thousands of doses at community events. Ask them for a kit if you or someone in your house uses opioids.
- Salute to the Military. An annual Orange County event that raises money and awareness for veterans dealing with PTSD, suicide risk, and addiction.
