CarePossible · Randy Moraitis, CIP
Can’t afford treatment? CarePossible places veterans and military families into mental health and addiction programs on scholarship, at no cost to you. Since 2013 the nonprofit has secured more than $3 million in treatment scholarships for veterans in crisis.
Founder Randy Moraitis is a Certified Intervention Professional and CADC II counselor with more than 20 years in the field. If the hard part is getting someone you love to say yes, he plans and leads the intervention too.
CarePossible also provides free counseling, life-skills coaching, and Narcan kits. Randy works with families in person in Laguna Niguel or by video.
His practice brings together intervention planning, addiction counseling, and recovery coaching, so families have support before treatment and as recovery continues. Randy also holds a PhD in positive neuropsychology and is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor.
Scott Gray, NCACIP
Veteran, substance use disorder counselor, and Senior Interventionist at Synergistic Intervention Specialists in San Diego and Santee, California. He has led more than 200 interventions since 2018.
His approach is family systems: change the family, not only the person in crisis. He prepares the whole household before the intervention, holds the room during it, and stays with the family through placement and the weeks after. The firm’s partner roster includes Marine Corps veteran Patrick Trujillo, so military families are talking to people who know the culture.
Scott also leads Foxhole’s virtual family groups. Family of Veterans Rally Point meets Thursdays at 7:00 PM local for 60 minutes, and cameras off is always fine. It is a weekly place for spouses, parents, and siblings to get plain talk and a plan while someone they love is still in the fight.
The Runway Recovery
A state-licensed medical detox and residential addiction program in Santa Ana, California, for men and women working through drug and alcohol addiction, often with PTSD, depression, or anxiety alongside it.
Twelve clients across two houses, six to a house, so care stays personal: individual therapy, group therapy, DBT, 12-Step support, yoga, and meditation, with trauma-informed staff and aftercare planned from day one.
In-network with TRICARE, Anthem, and MHN, and most PPO plans accepted.
Owned by Vechi Mutum, the program’s CEO and CarePossible’s 2025 Veteran Champion of the Year, honored for getting veterans and military families into care they could not otherwise afford.

Patriot Power Up
A 45-day residential mental health program built for veterans in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, addressing PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use disorder, and traumatic brain injury in a setting designed for healing.
The residential setting gives veterans space to step away from everyday demands and focus on their mental health. The program participates in the VA Community Care Network; your VA care team and the program can help confirm referral requirements and coverage.
